Day #7: Queer Art Competition with the presence of two filmmakers

The Queer Art Competition hosts filmmakers Camila José Donoso and Samira Elagoz to introduce their respective films Casa Roshell and Craigslist Allstars.
Samira Elagoz is a young Finnish performer of Egyptian origin, who has been exploring the concept of the intimate encounter, mediated by new technologies. In 2013, her growing interest in documentaries drew her to a new project, the result of which is Craigslist Allstars. Elagoz placed a Craigslist ad seeking to meet men, with the condition that she would be allowed to film the encounters. The end result can be seen today at 7.15pm in Sala 3.
The issue of space is also the focus of Camila José Donoso’s documentary. 51-year-old Roshell and 43-year-old Liliana run together Casa Roshell. As a utopic spot, this place is a hideout for those men that live repressed in their desires of feminization and transvestism. The film screens at 9.30pm in Sala 3.
