Opening of Queer Lisboa's Videotheque and Office

Fulfilling an old dream, Queer Lisboa inaugurates today the Queer Lisboa Space, at Room 303 of the Pensão Amor, an entrepreneurial and cultural complex in the Cais do Sodré district in the heart of Lisbon.

Queer Lisboa Film Festival has gathered, since 1997, an important audiovisual archive, so as a considerable selection of printed documents and works of art. Now made public, the Festival archive is a fundamental instrument, not only for specialized researchers, but for all those film industry professionals and students interested in this film genre, in what is surely the most comprehensive queer audiovisual archive in the country.

The space has two distinct areas: that of the Associação Cultural Janela Indiscreta (ACJI) head office, which serves as workspace for the annual and seasonal team that organizes the Queer Lisboa Film Festival, and the ACJI Videotheque and Library, an archive preview screening area.

The opening is scheduled for 6pm, a cocktail will be served and there will be animation throughout the night in all the building and street.
