Since 2015, the Queer Art Section of Queer Lisboa, in which the Festival programs films with challenging narratives or in dialogue with the visual arts, has become competitive. The prize for the Best Film in this competition, valued at € 1,000, has been sponsored since then by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL).
Now, in partnership with FBAUL, Queer Lisboa organizes a programme in which the three winning films of the last three editions will be shown:
- Winner Queer Art 2015: New Dubai, by Gustavo Vinagre (Brazil, 2014, 53 ')
- Winner Queer Art 2016: JL's Passion, by Carlos Nader (Brazil, 2015, 82 ')
- Winner Queer Art 2017: Occidental, by Neïl Beloufa (France, 2017, 73 ')
The programme begins this Friday, October 13, at 6pm (in FBAUL's Grande Auditório), and will run through the weekend of 28 and 29. It is aimed at the school community and the public visiting the Fine Arts Faculty, and it is integrated into the programming of the Fine Arts Day (October 25).
The 3 films will be displayed with intervals of 10 minutes between each one. The entry is free of charge.
