From the 3rd to the 11th of June, the 6th Edition of Curta o Gênero will take place in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brasil.
João Ferreira, Artistic Director of Queer Lisboa and Queer Porto, and the Programmer Ricke Merighi will be present at the Festival for the seminar “Queer Cinema – narratives, aesthetics and subversive politics”, that will be moderated by the curator Karla Bessa, on the 7th of June.
On the 9th of June, João Ferreira and Ricke Merighi will lecture a mini course called “Utopic and Dystopic Frontiers in Queer Cinema”.
Lastly, on the 11th of June, the following portuguese short films will be screened in Mostra Paralela (curated by João Ferreira and Ricke Merighi): “Pedro”, by André Santos & Marco Leão; “O Bloqueio”, by Isabel Cordovil; “Imóvel”, by Sérgio Galvão Roxo; “Viagem”, by José Magro; “Children, Madonna and Child, Death and Transfiguration”, by Ricardo Vieira Lisboa (vencedor do prémio de Melhor Curta-Metragem de Escola da Competição In My Shorts de 2016); and “Brazil Carnival”, by António da Silva.
