Next Tuesday, October 23, at 10:00 pm, Shortcutz Lisboa will fill again O Bom, O Mau and Vilão with attractive short films. The initiative will present new short films of its competition and will also receive Queer Lisboa as a guest festival.
The Festival will program the winner short of the most recent European School Film Competition "In My Shorts": Clara Stern's Mathias (Austria, 2017, 30', fiction), a film about a transgender man who needs to find his way into his new identity.
The short was awarded in the last edition of Queer Lisboa, by the jurors Fernando Galrito, Marta Fernandes and Ágata Pinho. They chose it as the best film of the Competition "In My Shorts", according to the following statement:
"For the intelligent and humane way in which the trans character is built, in all his complexity, never reducing him to a stereotype. For the way the spaces inhabited by the lead character – home, work and outside world – become essential to his dramaturgic construction and that of all the others he interacts with. A film built on a technically strong foundation, with a rich physical space and soundscape that coherently support the whole narrative".
