In the context of the conference “Conjunctures of Hospitality — Conditions, Articulations, and Affects of Border Encounters”, the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (UCP) organizes a film screening followed by debate to take place on the next 9th of November, 3pm, at Bairro Alto's Casa do Comum.

Lisa Gerig’s film "The Hearing" (Switzerland, 2023), which provides another take on the asylum processes of four asylum seekers whose application was rejected, will be the motto for the event.

The screening of the film will be followed by a debate about the possibilities and limitations of artistic interventions to topics such as the refugee experience, which will be moderated by Sophie Pinto (UCP) and will count with the participation of Daniel Pinheiro (Queer Lisboa), Eduardo Prado Cardoso (UCP), Miguel Ribeiro (Casa do Comum) and Sara Magno (UCP).
