"O VÍRUS-CINEMA: CINEMA QUEER E VIH/SIDA"

“O vírus-cinema: cinema queer e VIH/sida” is an edition of the Janela Indiscreta Cultural Association, coordinated by António Fernando Cascais and João Ferreira, which brings together a set of essays where different guest personalities - from doctors to activists, from programmers to film critics - write about a film that addresses the issue of HIV/AIDS, offering different perspectives on the challenges the epidemic posed for film.

For its 18th edition, Queer Lisboa celebrated the anniversary of its symbolic coming of age by publishing Queer Film and Culture which, besides compiling a selection of reviews featured in the catalogues of previous editions, thorough essays from the Queer Art, Queer Focus, Queer Pop, and Hard Nights sections, and a chapter focusing on Portuguese gay film from the seventies, also includes chapters on national and international queer film and culture, and on director John Waters, with new essays by festival collaborators and guest authors.
