Talk: Paola Zaccaria and Isabeli Santiago

Dyke-feminist, tejana patlache poet, writer and cultural theorist, Gloria Anzaldúa (1942-2004) turns the home-border into a unique theoretical and epistemological perspective, disclosing an existential condition behind the geographical one. Multifaceted author who refuses to fit in any given identitary marker, Anzaldúa suggest new forms of community (el mundo zurdo), having turned into a reference in the building of a Latin-American and intersectional decolonial thought. It is urgent to think Gloria Anzaldúa, so Queer Porto invites Brazilian curator Isabeli Santiago to talk with Italian professor and author Paola Zaccaria, responsible for the Italian translation of Anzaldúa’s Borderlands / La Frontera: The New Mestiza (1987), which is still to be translated in Portugal.
