Ira Sachs is an American filmmaker whose films have been screened at major international film festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, and Berlinale. Over the span of more than 35 years, Ira Sachs has developed a personal cinema defined by its precise, unsentimental exploration of relationships, romantic and familial, as well as the complexities of sexual desire and intimate life. His work is in the permanent collections at MoMA and the Whitney Museum of Art, and in 2009, Sachs founded Queer|Art, a non-profit arts organization now in its 15th year, that provides mentorship and support for LGBTQIA+ artists across disciplines and generations.
