After serving a ten-year prison sentence, Noa, a 48-year-old trans Roma woman, is trying to start afresh and regain custody of her children, who are in state care. To do so, she needs a home… and she is about to be evicted. Amidst precarious circumstances and resilience, solidarity, friendship, art and humour help her to keep going.

Lorena Ros (1975) is a filmmaker, documentary photographer and journalist. Recognised for her auteur's perspective on memory, identity and the power dynamics that underpin experiences of trauma, her work explores how the intimate intertwines with collective memory. She has spent much of her career between London and New York. She has received three World Press Photo awards and the One World Media Award from Amnesty International, among other international accolades. “Up and Running” is her first documentary film.
