Queer Lisboa 28 Guests

Queer Lisboa 28 will be attended by a significant number of guests, including directors, producers and other professionals from the film industry.

 

Marcelo Caetano is responsible for inaugurating the new edition of the Festival with "Baby".

 

Daniel Donato (director), Agnes Geneva (protagonist actress), Lucas Camargo de Barros (screenwriter and editor) and S'yo Fang (composer) will represent the Closing film, "Call Me Agnes".

 

Júlia Duarte, producer, distributor and niece of director José Antônio Garcia, will also be at the Festival representing "Onda Nova".


In the Feature Film Competition, we will receive a visit from Sacha Amaral, director of the film "El Placer Es Mío", along with his producers Agustín Gagliardi and Ricardo Galeano, and Theda Hammel, responsible for the feature film "Stress Positions".

 

In the Documentaries strand, Fernanda Faya ("Neirud"), Pierre Primetens ("La photo retrouvée") and Miguel Morillo Vega ("Cyborg Generation") will be at Cinema São Jorge for introducing their films.


In the Short Film Competition, we will host Jordi Wijnalda ("aquest (no) és el teu oceà"), and Isadora Neves Marques ("As Minhas Sensações São Tudo o que Tenho para Oferecer"). Thai filmmaker, Sarnt Utamachote, will also be present at Cinema São Jorge for presenting the short film "I Don't Want to Be Just a Memory", and will do so accompanied by their producer Klaus Salminen and Pedro Marum, participant in the film.

 

More guests will be present from the "In My Shorts" European School Film Competition: Antoine Scalese and Valentina Parati, directors of "Helmet"; Gio Ventura, director of "Les sports X-trem", accompanied by his costume designer Jameelah Maury; and also director Mon Dewulf, DOP Aaron Denolf and producer Liesje Baltussen, competing with "Springtime".

 

In the Queer Art Competition, highlights include the presence of Brazilian director Rachel Daisy Ellis, responsible for the film "Eros", Katharina Lüdin, director of "Of Living without Illusion", Pedro Geraldo, responsible for "Sofia Foi", Christophe Pellet, director of "Et dans le flux, tu le perdras", and also screenwriter Germano Melo and filmmaker Ricardo Alves Jr., both presenting "Parque de Diversões".

 

There will also be opportunity to meet other guests with films out of Competition in this edition of Queer Lisboa, specifically in the Panorama section: John Macconnell (producer and light and sound designer), Matthew Kraus (producer and DOP), Nando de Carvalho (producer) and Sam Shahid (director and producer), will be present in Lisbon for the screening of the documentary "Hidden Master: the Legacy of George Platt Lynes".

 

In the debates, several prominent personalities also stand out: Joana Mortágua and Maíra Freitas will be participating in "Agora Somos Somos"; Helder Bértolo and Rita Paulos in "Gentrification and LGBTQI+ Populations"; and, in “Queer Resistance", Bohdan Zuhk and Dan Sokoli, who visits us in representation of the Prishtina Queer Festival along wiht Human Rights activist Albert Selimi.

 

And we will also have among us Lluís Garau, André Tecedeiro and Laura Falésia, for this year's performances, and also Dana Click, author of the photography exhibition "Queer Spectrum".
